VMS Overview

VMS Overview is an application available in the Equipment menu that helps you monitor and analyze the performance of your VMS™ milking robots. Its purpose is to provide a clear and centralized view of your equipment, making it easier to track daily performance and identify VMS units that may require attention.

Equipment overview: all your VMS milking robots compared at a glance

The Equipment overview page helps you to compare all VMS units on your farm from a single dashboard.

You can select the time period you would like to analyse:

  • Last 24 hours

  • Last 7 days

  • Last 30 days

  • Last 90 days.

Once a period is selected, all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are automatically updated to reflect the corresponding values.

This overview helps you to:

  • Quickly identify your best-performing VMS units.

  • Detect those VMS robots that may require your attention.

  • Compare performance across multiple VMS units.

  • Follow performance trends over different time periods.

In this view, you can compare the VMS on the selected period for the following indicators:

  • Average number of

    Alarms per day

    Warnings per day

  • Average total milk yield per day

  • Average % kickoff per day

  • Average % incomplete milking per day

  • Average attachment time per milking

  • Alarms : average number of stop alarms per day.

  • Average total milk yield per day (kg) : total yield per day.

  • Number of milkings : average number of milkings per day.

  • Average milk flow (kg/min): Total Yield / Total Milking Time per milking.

  • Average preparation time (mm:ss): average time spent for cleaning and cup attachment per milking.

  • Average teat attachment time (mm:ss): average time that it takes for the VMS to attach the milking cups per milking.

  • Average milking time (mm:ss) : average milking time - counted from when milk is flowing.

  • Average box time (mm:ss): average time duration per milking from when the cow is identified by the VMS and when the VMS exit door opens at the end of the milking.

  • Incomplete milkings (%): average number of incompletes milking per day.

  • Kick-offs (%): average number of milkings where kick-offs occured.

  • Number of cleanings : average number of VMS's cleanings per day. Cleaning is counted as an initiated system cleaning (not a local one), when it meets the following conditions:

    • Total cleaning time is more than 6 minutes (360 seconds).

    • Minimum one step includes detergent (acid, alkali, or disinfectant).

  • Idle time (hh:mm): average idle time for the VMS per day (box time - cleaning time - down time).

These KPIs provide a quick and effective way to evaluate your robot performance and identify potential causes of reduced efficiency.
