How is Disease Risk calculated for a cow?

There are two AI models, one for VMS and one for CMS. The VMS one is further developed and more accurate since more data points are available, and there are more farms.
Below are the areas where the VMS data comes from:

  • Herd information: General information about the herd, such as geographic location or cow traffic system.

  • Activity data (when present): Hourly log of animal activity (24 records per day) from Activity Meter systems, by animal. Activity meter data from AM2, as well as BA tags.

  • Feeding data: The daily aggregated amount of concentrate given and consumed by the animals.

  • Visit the data: Log every animal visit to VMS devices, including visit type (successful milking, refusal, passthrough, etc.), timestamp, and duration of the visit.

  • Milking data: Log of every milking visit to VMS devices, including several measurements collected from sensors within the robot, and, if present, Online Cell Count (OCC) and Herd Navigator (HN).

  • BCS data: measurement of Body Condition Score (BCS), available on a daily resolution.

  • Health data: Data entries for cow disease diagnoses in DelPro as free text labels entered by farmers. These labels were associated with a date only (without a timestamp) and mostly provided in the language of origin of the farmers.
