BCS Camera overview

The DeLaval Body Condition Score (BCS) camera is a fully automated system that evaluates body condition using 3D imaging. It shows whether a cow is too thin, in the right condition, or too fat.

Because body fat is the cow’s energy reserve, changes in BCS over time give a good picture of energy balance. Monitoring BCS helps you react when cows lose too much condition or gain too much fat, and find the right balance between feeding costs, milk production, fertility, and cow welfare.
